Souvenir from Seattle – Laser etched Space Needle crystal

Seattle’s Space Needle reminds one of Vienna’s Danube tower – a rotating restaurant, a gift shop and an observation deck to view the cities’ skylines. When hubby came back he gave me this etched on crystal photo of the Space Needle, a good paperweight for my desk. Below is hubby’s drive by shot of the actual installation.

Plaza Hotel Alta

Plaza Hotel Alta is one of the few recognized eco-hotels in Prague. It is conveniently located in Prague 7 – only 10 min away from the centre of Prague, near Výstavišt? Holešovice, a railway and a metro station. One could take the tram and get just one station off or walk – it takes about 10 minutes or less. Since we arrived at night, the hotel has been lit beautifully, I… Read More »Plaza Hotel Alta

Souvenir from Canada #1 – Miniature Craigdarroch Castle

A week into hubby’s vacation I received a lovely postcard of the Craigdarroch Castle, it was in pink and really cute. I haven’t received a letter from hubby for the longest time so I didn’t recognize his handwriting  at all. He said the place was a bit creepy (contrasts the outside appearance). Maybe because the Victorian castle has had an awfully large number of deaths before its completion thus the atmosphere.… Read More »Souvenir from Canada #1 – Miniature Craigdarroch Castle

Cars do travel too!

My kids are definitely rubbing their animated nature into me. While on our way to the bank, my youngest nudged me with his elbow and pointed to these two trucks that look like cheap auto transport carriers. The kids were giggling,… Read More »Cars do travel too!

I need that Cymax vitrine for my snow globes

I’ve collected a number of snow globes now and other items that I bought while on travel or visiting museums, palaces and other noted places in the city. The bookshelf holding them seems to be not enough now and I’d definitely love a vitrine or an entertainment console like this one that I found on the Cymax website. The black rubbed finish matches our table perfectly and the other bookshelf… Read More »I need that Cymax vitrine for my snow globes

Mining company and gold exploration, Canada

(photos by hubby) Vancouver, one of Canada’s youngest cities rich in many resources – perhaps gold and every minerals known.  It has been also the headquarters of mining companies and of many technologies such as software development, biotechnology, aerospace, video game development and animation studios.
