The beach is, perhaps, the most sought-after travel destination by vacationers, beach bums (obviously!), and families seeking to enjoy wholesome fun and relaxation that’s fit for people of all ages. In fact, tourism in many countries thrives because of the influx of tourists to various beach destinations. In Asia, there’s Bali in Indonesia, Phuket in Thailand, Amanpulo and Boracay in the Philippines. There’s Cape Town in Africa, and California and Florida in the United States.
All these places have one thing in common – beautiful, breathtaking, and captivating beaches. Hence, it’s not surprising that tourists flock to these places all year round. Of course, Greece, Australia, and Italy boast of beautiful beaches, if not the most picturesque too.
A particular municipality in the province of Cagliari in the Italian region of Sardinia called Teulada is home to Spiaggia di Tuerredda (Teurredda Beach).
Spiaggia di Tuerredda lies on a beautiful bay between Cape Malfatano and Cape Spartivento. If it were your first time to see the beach, you would think you’re looking at a captivating Caribbean landscape because of its clear and fine sand, as well as the clear waters of the sea that’s almost transparent. It’s little wonder, then, that it is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia.
The coastline is surrounded by verdant vegetation that includes lentisk and juniper, and a few hundred meters from the shore is the islet of Tuerredda that lies in front of the beach. A few strokes would take you this lovely islet. The islet is like a world of its own – the northeast wind prevails here so it’s comfortable enough to spend a few hours stretched out on the sand. Many smooth rocks are scattered over the islet, which offers plenty of room for you to lounge in. If you feel up to it, you can explore the inland where you would come face-to-face with gulls and other birds. Scented, ground-hugging brush covers the inland; thus, you’d feel lost in your own little world while exploring it.
If you simply want to spend long hours swimming and exploring the world underneath with your mask and flippers, then the limped seawaters provide you just that. What’s even better is the waters maintain constant cool temperatures even if the waters become deeper particularly near the islet.
However, if all you want to do is immortalize the lovely landscape using your trusted camera, then you could just traverse along the coast. There, you’ll see alternating stretches of gentle and harsh land and small beaches that are separated by rocky outcrops. All these are engulfed between the lush green flora and the mesmerizing azure waters of the sea.
Nevertheless, that’s not all that Spiaggia di Tuerredda offers. There are other amenities to make your trip even more pleasant. Obviously, spending time exploring the beach would surely whet your appetite. Well, when your stomach starts rumbling, a restaurant within the area serving delectable fares is sure to give you your fill. There’s a kiosk-café for light snacks, a paid car park, a place to rent or secure some beach equipment, and a rental place for canoes and pedal boats. You could even inquire how to go on a rib-dinghy trip.
It’s not every day that you would get the chance to enjoy a serving of paradise. Therefore, if you have time, visit Spiaggia di Tuerredda. It’s one entry you shouldn’t miss putting on your bucket list.
My bucket list seems to be growing longer and longer with all these fantastic beaches you’ve been posting! LOL! Yep, Spiaggia Di Tuerredda DOES look bucket-list worthy! WOW!!!!
